Reuben Atlas, Producer/Director
Reuben Atlas is a director, producer, and lawyer who grew up in Montclair, New Jersey. After graduating from Vassar College, working at Green Haven Maximum Security prison, the Legal Aid Society in Paterson, NJ, and the Cuban News in Costa Rica, he attended law school. In his 3rd year, he began making short advocacy films, music videos, and a feature-length documentary about the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. He has received financial support from the Jerome Foundation, the New York, State Council on the Arts, and the National Black Programming Consortium. He has also directed videos for many musicians including Pyeng Threadgill, Luthea Salom, Jon Skerik, Eric Deutsch, the SF Jazz Collective, and Charles Burnham. As a New York-based entertainment lawyer, he represents a number of independent musicians and filmmakers.
