King Corn was featured in ITVS’ landmark Community Cinema program, producing community outreach screenings in 45 markets during March 2008. All screenings focused on issues related to nutrition, agricultural policy, food production, and the environment. King Corn screenings welcomed more than 3,700 community members to over 45 events, which included special guest speakers and panel discussions with local experts. ITVS produced companion discussion guides to support the screenings and for use by viewers at home; more than 10,000 were downloaded or distributed. More than 250 community-based and national organizations partnered with ITVS to engage audiences around this timely and impactful film. In addition, online engagement features like Filmocracy
reached tens of thousands of online visitors. These outreach efforts combine with a national media campaign to create a sustained national conversation around the important issues raised in this film.
