ITVS is proud to support Maquilapolis: City of Factories with engagement and education materials in support of its national broadcast on POV on October 10, 2006 and on Global Voices on September 19, 2010.
Maquilapolis City of Factories was featured in ITVS' 2010 Women's Empowerment Summer Screening Series. More than 10 cities across the country participated in this timely initiative, including New York, Seattle, Colorado Springs, Lexington, Los Angeles, Nashville, Philadelphia, Chicago, San Francisco, Rochester, and Washington, D.C. The films that were selected from ITVS' catalogue of documentaries provided critical perspectives on the most pressing issues facing women and girls today, and sparked conversation and action amongst a diverse set of partner organizations, from Girl Scouts of the USA to the City of Los Angeles Gang Reduction Youth Development Office to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee.
