Global Mobile

ITVS International and iThentic, an online and mobile video content company, have commissioned eight international filmmakers to make short films for mobile devices. The eight shorts represent the creative talents of makers from Iceland, South Africa, France, Netherlands, India, Chile, UK, Australia and Burma. The collection, presented as Global Mobile, has “food” as the central theme.

AOL
AOL True Stories
PLEASE VOTE FOR ME follows a classroom of eight-year-old Chinese students who hold an election for class monitor. The film which premiered on Independent Lens in October, is part of a global project called “Why Democracy”, with the participation of 25 broadcasters worldwide.

As part of the national outreach program, AOL True Stories features a 20-minute version of PLEASE VOTE FOR ME, available online, accompanied by social networking tools to expand its reach. AOL will continue to present additional titles from the new season of Independent Lens.

ITVS International has partnered with Jaman, an Internet community and download service for world cinema online, to present docs when and where you want to watch.

CHAHINAZ: What Rights for Women? follows Chahinaz, a 20-year-old Algerian student, who begins to wonder what life is like for women in other Muslim countries and around the world. IRANIAN KIDNEY BARGAIN SALE takes an inside look at the growing organ industry in Iran, where every ten minutes, a young person wishing to sell his or her kidney appears at the entrance of a kidney referral agency.
