Weijun Chen, Director Weijun Chen is a documentary director and producer living in Wuhan, central China. After graduating in journalism from the Sichuan University in 1992, he joined the documentary production department of the Wuhan regional TV station. His first film, My Life Is My Philosophy, was nominated for Best Documentary of the Year by the Chinese National Association of Broadcasters. In 2003, he completed To Live is Better than to Die, which was awarded a Peabody and Grierson Award, as well at the Rodlf Vrfba Award from the One World Festival. Don Edkins, Producer Don Edkins is a documentary film director and producer. He was born in Cape Town and left South Africa in 1976 for political reasons. In 1994, he returned to vote in the first democratic elections. With a background in development studies and African languages, he has extensive experience in the field of media and development. In Lesotho, he published a national popular educational magazine and founded a mobile video cinema screening films at a community level. He has directed and produced a number of documentaries, including the multi-awarded Steps for the Future, a collection of 38 films from Southern Africa about life in the time of HIV/AIDS. Steps for the Future, the first project of the STEPS group of commissioning editors and producers, broadcast around the world and screened at 150 festivals. Currently Edkins is an executive producer for the STEPS global documentary project on democracy. Mette Heide, Producer Mette Heide is executive producer for STEPS International. She is also CEO and executive producer for Team Production ApS, a Danish production house, which has specialized in international documentaries. Currently she is producing, among other films, Milosevic on Trial, an exclusive behind-the-scenes documentary from the Hague and a similar film on the trial of Saddam Hussein. Her latest released documentary, Liberace of Baghdad, won the Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. She has also executive produced fiction films including some of the major successful Danish films of recent years including the Oscar nominated short Wolfgang.
