The Bee helps support the Literacy Council's English as a Second Language and Adult Basic Education programs. The Literacy Council serves approximately 300 new Americans a year. THE NEW AMERICANS Building Bridges module training workshop in partnership with the Center for New North Carolinians. A workshop aimed at helping service providers, faith leaders and other professionals foster dialogue, build cultural competency and inspire bridge-building among long-term residents and newcomers. This four-hour workshop uses the video module, case studies and interactive activities from the guide. Lunch will be provided. Venue: United Childhood Development Services, 1200 Arlington Street.
