BOMBIES
photo: Rudy Kovanic
Produced by:
Jack Silberman

Between 1964 and 1973 the United States conducted a secret air war, dropping over two million tons of bombs on Laos, making it the most heavily bombed country in history. Millions of cluster bombs did not explode when dropped, leaving the country massively contaminated with "bombies"--as dangerous now as when they fell a quarter century ago.

Premiere: Public Television, December 2001

"BOMBIES is not soft entertainment…. The film makes clear that ridding Laos of cluster bombs is a Sisyphean task."
