I am especially glad to see the movie; as it turns out a friend of the family is adopting an overseas child, and perhaps this could illuminate some of the issues facing this child when she gets a little older and a little more curious about her differences.

I was sorry to see the parents support the girls desire to have her ears changed. I think that the idea of teaching would have been the better choice self. Issues of self worth, vanity, beauty, and a sense of well being and pride could have talked about, and been the greater lesson.
