Public Media Organizations

Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB)
CPB is a private corporation funded by the American people to promote the growth and development of public media in communities throughout America.



Public Broadcasting Service (PBS)
PBS is a private, nonprofit corporation with more than 350 member stations in all 50 states and a creator of content that educates, informs, and inspires. Each month, PBS invites viewers to experience the worlds of science, history, nature, and public affairs; hear diverse viewpoints; and take front row seats to world-class drama and performances.



American Masters
American Masters is an ongoing series of award-winning primetime specials examining the lives, works, and creative processes of our most outstanding cultural artists on PBS.



Frontline
Frontline is American public television's flagship public affairs series, featuring credible, thoughtful, award-winning documentaries year-round on PBS.



Independent Lens
Independent Lens is the largest documentary series on television, a showcase of award-winning films featuring diverse, authentic voices unheard on commercial airwaves.



National Center for Media Engagement (NCME)
The National Center for Media Engagement (NCME) is the trusted resource for community engagement for public media that provides the resources, networks and stories that enable public media to discover, understand and address community needs and aspirations. NCME is funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and is affiliated with the University of Wisconsin-Extension.



National Minority Consortia (NMC)
NMC funds film and media makers, presents works on public television and other venues, exhibits films and videos, and distributes works to schools and libraries. With primary funding from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the NMC serves as an important component of American public television.



PBS NewsHour
PBS NewsHour is one of the most trusted programs in television, delivering a daily newscast five nights a week on PBS and on podcast.



POV
POV is television's longest-running showcase for independent non-fiction films, premiering 14 to 16 timely, intimate, award-winning titles each year on PBS.



THIRTEEN
THIRTEEN is one of America's most respected and innovative public media providers and a member of the WNET family of companies.




WGBH
WGBH is PBS's single largest producer of Web and television content, including the award-winning primetime series Nova, Masterpiece, and Frontline.

Alliance of Women Film Journalists (AWFJ)
The Alliance of Women Film Journalists, Inc. is an association of professional female movie critics, reporters and feature writers working in print, broadcast and online media. AWFJ focuses on women's perspectives on film, and supports work by and about women – both in front of and behind the cameras.



Women’s eNews
Women's eNews is an award-winning nonprofit news service, reporting in English and Arabic, covering issues of concern to women and women’s perspectives on public policy. Founded in 2000, Women’s eNews continues to enhance women’s ability to define their own lives and to participate fully in every sector of human endeavor.



The WIP
The Women's International Perspective is a global source for women's perspectives. The WIP publishes local stories with global significance written by women and not readily covered by mainstream media. The WIP connects readers and writers worldwide through our feature stories, a byline portal, and a community blog.
