Chahinaz: What Rights for Women? by Samia Chala airs Sunday, Septembr 30 on Global Voices on the WORLD Channel.
Chahinaz, a 20-year-old student in Algeria, has mixed feelings about the Western world and its values, but she admires the freedom of Western women. Through her curiosity and voyage of self-discovery, Chahinaz begins to wonder what life is like for women in other Muslim countries and around the world and why things are slow to change in Algeria. Chahinaz: What Rights for Women? will air as part of the Global Voices series on the WORLD Channel, Sunday, September 30 at 10 p.m. (check local listings). Starting October 1, the documentary will be available to view in entirety online via PBS Video (for a limited time only).
