EILEEN FISHER, INC. Joins Women and Girls Lead
ITVS welcomes support for three-year initiative using media for global education and engagement to support women and girls.
Women and Girls Lead is delighted to announce it will continue to support a growing movement to connect citizens worldwide to powerful stories of women as agents of change with a new three-year investment from EILEEN FISHER, Inc. The funding will expand community engagement with forthcoming films including Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, MAKERS, and some 50 other award-winning independent documentary films. “Through her own good work in inspiring and empowering women, Eileen Fisher is connecting the dots between mentorship, education, and change,” said Sally Jo Fifer, president and CEO of ITVS. “We are thrilled she is bringing her passion and purpose to the Women and Girls Lead public media initiative.
Eileen Fisher shared the story behind her personal commitment to empowering women to find their voices in an interview last year during the Clinton Global Initiative in New York. As a mother, clothing designer, CCO of EILEEN FISHER, Inc., and philanthropist, she believes in creating simple solutions to improve lives. With the Eileen Fisher Leadership Institute and other programs, Fisher is giving young women the tools and encouragement to tap into their creativity, grow as leaders, and contribute to communities. Fisher is also participating in the initiative as a Friend of Women and Girls Lead alongside other leaders from the business, public media--including CPB President and CEO Patricia S. Harrison and PBS President and CEO Paula Kerger--education, media, film production, and other sectors.
