Jennifer Redfearn directed and produced the 2011 Academy Award-nominated documentary Sun Come Up, a film about climate change. Sun Come Up aired on HBO, garnered multiple festival awards, and has screened in over 500 venues, including festivals, universities, high schools, and community groups. In her freelance work over the past seven years, she has… Show more produced documentaries for National Geographic, PBS, CNN, and the Discovery Channel, and for educational and online distribution, including several short stories for MediaStorm. In 2013, she was one of the producers on National Geographic’s highest-rated television series, and in 2011 her work at MediaStorm was nominated for the World Press Photo, Anthropographia, and Webby awards in the multimedia and documentary categories. She has field-produced stories from across the U.S., Central America, the Middle East, Afghanistan, and Papua New Guinea. Redfearn is the recipient of a Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting Fellowship, and National Endowment for the Arts, Jerome Foundation, Chicken and Egg Pictures, and the NYSCA individual artist grants. She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from Wellesley College and a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University. Show less
