Amy Lo
Executive Producer
Amy Lo formed Mental Pictures with a focus on original stories across film, TV, and digital media. Her global production experience spans four continents, with projects based in the UK, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Numerous credits include the Sony movie Battle of the Year, shot in stereoscopic 3D; Sundance opening night film On a Clear Day, acquired by Focus Features; and Planet B-Boy, one of the top-grossing docs of 2007, acquired by MTV. Planet B-Boy also broke ground as an independent film securing innovative sponsorship deals with Samsung, and engaging audiences across different platforms, including mobile phone content, live
events, fan videos, and a 24-hour takeover of the YouTube homepage.
Amy was previously Head of Development for InFilm Productions, where projects included Rose Troche's The Safety of Objects, with Glenn Close and Patricia Clarkson; and Todd Haynes's Carol, starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara. She has been a speaker at SXSW, and served on the Selection Advisory Committee for the Sundance Institute Feature Film Program, and review panels for the Tribeca Film Institute, the Gucci Tribeca film grants, the Global Film Initiative, and the International Emmy Awards. Her work as a writer has aired on PBS for the Foreign Policy Association, and prior to her start in the film industry, she lived and worked in Beijing, China as a freelance writer. Amy grew up in Alaska and graduated from Stanford University with a dual degree in International Relations and Economics.
