My Omaha

After graduating from journalism school, Nick Beaulieu returns to Omaha, Nebraska — the birthplace of Malcolm X and a city deeply divided by race, politics, and history — to document its rising racial justice movement while confronting the widening distance between himself and his dying, pro-Trump father. Guided by community activist Leo Louis II, Nick’s search for understanding becomes a deeper reckoning with the ground beneath his hometown and the America that shaped them both.
