Director Lucy Walker attended Sunday night’s academy awards as one of five films nominated for Best Documentary Feature Lucy Walker and the Waste Land crew were on hand for last night’s 83rd Annual Academy Award ceremony in Los Angeles. The award for Best Documentary Feature was eventually dealt out to Charles Ferguson and Audrey Marrs for Inside Job. As we said on BTB last Friday, it is a HUGE honor to be nominated and we congratulate Lucy and the entire Waste Land team on the recognition. Enjoy some footage of Lucy Walker on the documentary and on her and artist Vik Muniz’ mutual fascination with garbage. Waste Land will air on Independent Lens on April 19 at 10 PM (check local listings).
