    Atanas Georgiev

    Atanas Georgiev was born in 1977 in Skopje, Macedonia, in what was then Yugoslavia. He graduated in 2000 from the Academy of Drama Arts in Skopje in film & TV editing, and edited numerous feature films, documentaries, shorts, and music videos. Now he lives and works as a director and editor in Prague and Skopje. He is also owner and producer of Trice Films Show more Production, based in Skopje and Prague. The film Cash & Marry earned him a pulmonary embolism, and also the Regards de Neuf Award in Nyon, Switzerland. Show less

    The Film

    One of the easiest ways for immigrants to obtain Austrian citizenship is to marry someone from that country. Cash & Marry documents the struggles and destinies of young men on student visas from the Balkans who travel to Vienna in order to obtain a wife and permanent residence.
