The Film

Saida, an aging beautician who prepares young brides for their weddings, hates the convention of arranged marriages. Her young client Miriam has serious doubts of her own. Together, on the afternoon before Miriam's wedding night, these two women form a bond with deep consequences for both of them. An Evening In July explores the complexities of arranged marriage, women's roles, and the power of female friendship in modern day Tunisia.
