    The Film

Two childhood friends grow up: one becomes a filmmaker, his friend Paul becomes a bank robber. Paul jumps parole and lands on the doorstep of his friend. Will Paul be able to survive life on the lam and off his psychiatric medication? Using Super-8 film from their suburban youth and current verité footage, My Friend Paul is a humorous, sometimes surreal look at issues of criminality, mental illness, and the nature of friendship.
