    Frederick Wiseman is an American filmmaker, documentarian, and theater director. In 2017, The New York Times called him "one of the most important and original filmmakers working today." His films include Titicut Follies, In Jackson Heights, Ex Libris, City Hall, Monrovia, Indiana, At Berkeley, and Menus-Plaisirs—Les Troisgros.

    The Film

    A state legislature is one of the basic democratic institutions. The film, by documentary filmmaker Frederick Wiseman, shows the day-to-day operations of the Idaho legislature, i.e. committee meetings, expert testimony, lobbyists, and public interest groups, debates on the floor of the Senate and House, leadership meetings, and the general activities of the legislature.
