ITVS Shares Our Progress on Representation

Posted on January 17, 2024

As an organization with diversity and inclusivity as our top priority, ITVS has a long record of sharing with the public the data that we provide each fiscal year to our board of directors. We’re proud of our record of representation—on our board, on our staff, and among our ITVS-funded filmmakers and programs.

Today, we’re sharing our representation for the fiscal year 2023.

We recognize that applying an intersectional lens to our representation analysis is essential to understanding how complex identities influence the structures, processes, and practices underpinning our social justice and equity work.

In addition to sharing detailed information on gender, race, and ethnicity representation in the figures below, we are sharing the percent of women or nonbinary filmmakers and staff who identify as African American, Asian, Asian American, Black, Latino/a/x, Middle Eastern, Native American, Native Alaskan, Native Hawaiian, North African, and/or Pacific Islander: 37% of funded filmmakers, 40% of the curatorial team, 58% of the board of directors, 29% of senior management, and 39% of all ITVS staff.
