A new digital series based on the book, The Tacos of Texas by Mando Rayo & Jarod Neece, creators of Tacojournalism.com. This series will explore the “Iconic Tacos of Texas” in 7 cities, all with their own unique brand of taco charm. Mando Rayo

Producer

Mando Rayo’s experience is deep-rooted in Latino and multicultural communities. Mando is a digital story-teller and uses his Latino identity to inspire and build bridges through his multicultural marketing agency (Mando Rayo + Collective) and his books (The Tacos of Texas, Austin Breakfast Tacos). From working with Whataburger, People en Español, Beef Loving Texans, KLRU-TV, Austin PBS, The New Philanthropists and local nonprofits, Mando shares our stories through food, culture, video documentaries, and digital platforms. Mando's work has been featured in Bon Appetite Magazine, The Food Network, NPR, The New York Times and SXSW.
Jarod Neece

Producer

Jarod Neece has been with the South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference & Festivals in Austin,TX since 2002. He is the festival's Senior Film Programmer with an emphasis on Feature and Genre Programming. He is a member of numerous Advisory Boards and has been a juror or panelist at a number of festivals and organizations, including Cannes, Sundance, TIFF, Fantastic Fest, Fantasia, the McKnight Filmmaking Fellowship & Independent Film Week. He is also the co-founder and editor of the popular Austin food blog, TacoJournalism.com, co-author of the local bestselling books, Austin Breakfast Tacos: The Story of the Most Important Taco of the Day and The Tacos of Texas published by UT Press.
